ERP helps you learn to respond differently to fear and uncertainty by gradually approaching situations that feel difficult while practicing letting go of compulsions and other attempts to feel safe or certain. Rather than trying to make anxiety go away, treatment creates opportunities to learn that you can safely experience discomfort, tolerate uncertainty, and choose how to respond without relying on the usual rituals or avoidance that shrinks your life. Overtime, these new experiences can help loosen OCD’s hold on you.
-
ACT focuses on building psychological flexibility so you can make room for difficult thoughts and feelings without letting them dictate your choices. Together, we work on connecting with your values and taking meaningful steps toward the life you want, even when things feel uncomfortable or uncertain.
-
I-CBT is an approach to OCD treatment that helps you understand how obsessive doubt develops and learn to recognize when your mind is pulling you away from what you know about your present reality. Rather than trying to prove that a feared possibility is impossible, treatment focuses on strengthening your trust in your senses and reasoning so you can disengage from obsessional doubt.
-
HRT is a behavioral approach commonly used to treat skin-picking and hair-pulling disorders. It helps you become more aware of the urges, situations, and patterns associated with these behaviors while developing alternative responses. The goal is to reduce automatic and intentional picking or pulling and build greater flexibility in how you respond to urges.
-
CBT for BDD helps address the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that contribute to distress about perceived flaws in appearance. Treatment may involve reducing checking, comparing, reassurance-seeking, and avoidance while developing a more flexible relationship with appearance-related thoughts and concerns.
-
ART is a trauma-focused therapy that uses guided eye movements and imagery-based techniques to help reduce the distress associated with difficult memories and experiences. It can help people process painful experiences and change the way distressing memories affect them in the present.
-
Sand tray therapy offers a creative, hands-on way to explore experiences, emotions, and relationships using miniature figures in a tray of sand. It can be especially helpful when experiences are difficult to put into words, providing space for expression, reflection, and processing at your own pace.
